Let me just put it out there, unapologetically: I have beautiful hair. I always have. It is thick and full and healthy. Great shine, awesome chocolate brown color. True story: In high school, I secretly thought I could be a Pantene hair model. Yep. My hair is that good. The fly in the ointment is … Continue reading

tulips, take two
A new week means new tulips for moi. As long as things are crazy and stressful at work, I will have tulips on my desk. It’s just necessary right now. There’s just something calming and joyful about flowers, particularly tulips. This week’s bunch appeared to be a lively purple, but this morning, when I got … Continue reading
it’s march beardness, baby!
I love beards. I think they are crazy sexy cool. All of the boys in my family have beards: Look at the bevy of bearded men: my dashing father, my brother-in-law, and both of my brothers. My little bro looks fairly clean-shaven in this photo, but here’s a more recent shot of him: Isn’t he … Continue reading
windy
It doesn’t feel very springy here, despite what the calendar says. The wind was so cold today, it took my breath away when I was walking to my car. But I’m not complaining. I love winter. I hope it stays cold for another two months. Summer is overrated.

snow and snuggles
It’s cold and blowy and snowy outside. And I’m sick. So this is the plan for tonight: Thankfully, Genevieve has graciously agreed to keep me warm until bedtime. Such an agreeable girl.
signs of spring
We got a few inches of snow overnight, and spring seems eons away. But I’m keeping these beauties on my desk as a lovely reminder. As long as I have flowers, winter can stick around for awhile…
