cast iron keeper

In keeping with the random photographs from the last year of picture-taking, I offer this lovely shot:

This giant old cast iron pot sits outside at my parents’ house in Nebraska. I love the peeling paint and the rusted edges. A few months after I took this photo, it was overflowing with colorful flowers. I can’t even imagine how much it weighs.

  1. I am green with envy. I bought a new camera last Christmas too but went with another small point-and-shoot because I didn’t think I was ready for a DSLR yet. Now I want one…very badly. I am struggling with ISO issues with this camera and I still have a lot to learn but your photos are great and will remind me to keep my eye on the sale ads. šŸ™‚ And, of course, you’re welcome for the compliment!

    • There is still so much I don’t know about this camera. It’s probably more than I really need but I do love it, even though after a year, I still haven’t figured it out!

Feeling chatty? I'm all ears...
